Day 11: God C.A.R.E.S. For You Part 2 (Third post on our “Breakthrough” Conference)

Day 11: God C.A.R.E.S. For You Part 2 (Third post on our “Breakthrough” Conference)

As I continue sharing from our women’s conference, God continues to speak and reveal himself to me.  I am further reminded how important it is to not only take notes but to also give yourself time to pour over the notes in a quiet place to reflect and let God continue to speak through your notes.

On Day 10 we left off with the C in C.A.R.E.S. being to Cry Out to God.  Today we’ll move on to the A which stands for AppealAlex strongly encouraged us to “get up and pray” and to appeal to God in our struggle with our stronghold.  Do not just sit and wallow in your situation but activate your faith through prayer.  Wallowing gets us nowhere – praying strengthens us and helps us to focus.

Job 16:19 (NLT) “Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high.”

My Bible notes say this about Job 16:19:  Job was afraid that God had abandoned him.  Yet he appealed directly to God (his witness and advocate) and to God’s knowledge of his innocence.  A witness is someone who has seen what has happened, and an advocate is like a lawyer who speaks on behalf of the plaintiff.  By using these terms, Job showed he had cast all his hope for any fair defense upon God in heaven because he would probably die before it happened on earth.

The R in C.A.R.E.S. is to Remember the miracles you have already seen in your life.  David took the time to do this in Psalm 103:2-6.

Psalm 103:2-6 (NLT) “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.  He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.  He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies.  He fills my life with good things.  My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!  The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly.”

David goes on in this Psalm and talks about the Lord being compassionate, merciful, slow to anger and filled with unfailing love. He continues to go on about God’s great love for us just as we could.  This is why I love my practice of posting at least 3 things I am GR8TFUL for each day on Facebook – it reminds me of all that God has done just in this day.  And, as I focus on what I am GR8TFUL for, it makes my challenge smaller and my God BIGGER!

Tomorrow I will finish up sharing what the E and the S in C.A.R.E.S. stand for!!!

For now, share in the comments something you remember about God and how He has provided for you or showed His love for you!
